Watching Over
This jaunty composition brings together the opposing rooflines of one of my favourite Old Amersham views. Modelled on a stylised portrayal of The Griffin and what is now the gable end of Joules clothing store, rose pink and verdigris windows bow in whispered conversation to the creaky old half timbers of it’s neighbour across the street. Sgraffito details and glazed layers add a richness to the suggested layers of history portrayed within this abstract landscape.
Mixed media on board in lime wood tray frame hand finished (by me) with beeswax.
Measures 33cm x 33cm
