Pots & Plates

This bold botanical collection is a celebration of reaching the end of dark winter months with the early arrival of spring hyacinths. It indulges a desire to explore strong tonal contrasts and richly textured surfaces while dreaming up designs for fancy china plates. The collection of square paintings was inspired by a series of collage studies depicting hyacinth bulbs sprouting from a decorative pot in my kitchen.
